5:2 Diet - Week 4

Did not loose any weight this week but lost an inch on my waist and hips, neck is the same.

Fasting is getting easier. Snacking on non-fast days is way down. Events kept me from exercising Monday, i seem to loose the most when I exercise on fasting days. I don't remember Moseley making any claims about exercise on fasting days but there are plenty of YouTubers who do. At the moment I am exercising once a week, I need to expand that, just not sure when...

5:2 Diet - Week 3

Lost another 1.4lbs (11.8 total). Neck, Waist, Hips are unchanged. I had some weight gain mid- week but then dropped for the overall 1.4lb loss. Normal? Did I cheat somehow and not realize it? I have been  ust at work, so less overall exercise.

Glucose is still occasionally breaking 110 but the swings between checks are getting smaller.

Fasting days: Hunger pains are generally less. I have noticed my overall ability to focus decreases after 18hrs or so. I am staying within the 700 cal limit I set. The lack of focus presents when trying to write. I can still follow conversation (at least I have not noticed a decline) but composing content in my head is difficult.

5:2 Diet - Week 2

Results are not as dramatic.
  • 4lbs lost
  • Neck is unchanged
  • Waist is unchanged
  • Hips are unchanged
On average glucose is good. Had a spike in the 140 range but I ate the wrong thing that day.

Fasting has been ok, yesterday I went over by 100cal and was starving by the end of the day. I think that was stress.

5:2 Diet - week 1

Yesterday was fasting day 2 and first fasting day in the office. I had a hard time focusing and struggled with feelings of hunger. I exceeded my calorie limit by 88 cal.

After 1 week, I have lost 6lbd (water?), .5" around my neck and 1" around my waist. Glucose is looking good, no significant change in BP.

Lab results are in. We used Quest Diagnostics and they turned around the tests
In 4 days.

5:2 Diet Day #2

First fasting day. On day one I exceeded my calorie limit by 1200 calories (mmm... pizza). Not hungry yet this morning but kept staring at the food in the cupboard.

Completed the blood work two days ago, will get results in a week. This morning I took the following measurements:

  1. BP
  2. Glucose
  3. Weight
  4. Waist, Hips, Neck
